Trigger Point Therapy
When muscles become shortened (tight) and don't respond well to different forms of stretching, Trigger Point Therapy can be the solution. If you force a muscle to stretch that isn't responding by regaining its length, serious injury can happen if the trigger points aren't released first. A Trigger Point is like a hot spot or sensitive area in a muscle that is painful when pressure is applied to it. They can develop for numerous reasons, such as:
- Inactivity (sitting too much)
- Overactivity (too much exercise)
- Trauma (injury or car accident)
- Tight muscle will relax
- Muscle pain will subside
- Muscle will regain its length by stretching
- Muscle will regain its strength
